When I first started looking at carbon intensity ~7 years ago, it would regularly be ~450. Now it's often 150 or less for the whole day. Your 296 above is one of the worse days/times. Look more frequently and you'll see lots of much better values.

And now with the BBC finally doing some real reporting, maybe this will accelerate.
Farage's racism denials are dishonest, says ex-classmate

Nigel Farage's racism denials are dishonest, says ex-classmate
Peter Ettedgui tells the BBC Nigel Farage targeted antisemitic abuse at him when they were teenagers.

One of the things that we can all do is make a complaint.
This is about freedom of speech, and a lack of bias, although of they type they don't like.

The cul-de-sac of Fleetwood nicely explained by Mark Steel's in Town

Lots of road schemes agreed recently by DfT, very few rail ones - why oh why?

But at least a first freeze in 30 years is something to be pleased about. Although it is a shame that it's only partial.

And this is spot on. No other political figure or party gets so little scrutiny. And it’s not like there isn’t a track record…
Corruption, Russia-links, Trump-christofascist-links, Brexit, racism, total incompetence in Reform-run councils…
A dangerous clowncar revving up to drive us into the wall.

It doesn't help that the Labour/Labor/Liberal governments of UK, Australia & Canada all with good recent majorities, are all accepting the fossil companies' FUD.

So nothing to do with German automakers doing:
1. sticking with large fossil cars (Mercedes)
2. creating nice EVs but having crap software (VW)
3. pushing hydrogen fuel cells when it's been obvious for 10 years that it's a dud idea (BMW)

Finally some good news from the Treasury to DfT.
The recent decision to provide £1.7 billion for a London DLR extension, was welcome, but also North/South devisive when they haven't agreed the core Northern investments.

Given that "electrotech" is now clearly better, cheaper and provides energy security and good jobs, compared to fossil fuels. Maybe it is time to separate into the sensible countries who want a better world and leave the laggards behind.

How can we be on the 30th COP and still have no fossil fuel transition in the text?
I can understand that how, when and who could be up for debate, but not whever.

And integrated fare systems where multiple journeys count as one, make that small cost more acceptable. e.g. London's TfL bus hopper and daily caps.

I love the final sign-off
"Picture it at dusk: Victorian lampposts glowing, pods gliding silently past, cyclists heading home, the swans gliding along the Thames below. The bridge would no longer be a bottleneck that motorists endure, but a bridge people choose to cross."

It's a shame that there isn't a battery based heating option. There could be quite a big market for them. I always hate it when passing police vans and cars with their engines idling.

It looked good, but we couldn't watch an alternative reality where the USA is run by sensible politicians.

Humans can be bad, but most of the time are actually quite good. "Yet Schulting warns against ignoring the centuries when the LBK was a peaceful, flourishing culture, or the many settlements that transitioned into a different way of life without obvious signs of bloodshed."
