so I literally think the sudden explosion of Grinch stuff is literally our culture looking at Christmas and being like, "is there a guy involved in this who is like, mean? who does like sarcastic voices and steals presents from people? let's put him all over the place"

to me it feels like part of a general cultural shift to assumed misanthropy about every other human being on earth, an urge I can see in my own heart sometimes. it's a way to be like "hey what if christmas was about YouTube Prank Family Shit"

there was a "kid's brunch with the Grinch" thing near me recently and i cannot emphasize enough: do not introduce my children to the Grinch! he does home invasions!!
