A reminder that this anti-trans panic is 100% bullshit and exactly none of our country’s problems are related to someone expressing their gender identity and everyone who isn’t a hate-filled weirdo knows it.

Go ESCAPADE!!
Just heard about this yesterday as one of the authors, Daniel Stern, is now one of my group supervisor colleagues since JPL merged its planetary science and astrophysics sections. Looking at the author list, it looks like @saavikford.bsky.social is on it,’too? Really big flare!
Astronomers have spotted the largest and most distant flare ever observed from a supermassive black hole.
Nicknamed “Superman,” the flare originated 10 billion light-years from Earth, and at its peak, the light emitted shone with the brightness of 10 trillion suns. https://cnn.it/3WFwNNN

It was a good parade. People were excited. We lucked into being close to the street by virtue of getting lost through all the tunnels and stuff around Bunker Hill. Imagine this with a mental soundtrack of Randy Newman singing I Love LA.

The view of the parade route after a lot of randomly wandering around closed pedestrian passes around Bunker Hill.

On the A train (formerly known as the gold line). Lot of people not on the way to work, I think.

Find a nearby food bank and donate some money if you can. Maybe SNAP will be restored. Maybe it won’t. People will still need food, and cash is better than cans.
I know people love to donate goods, it feels concrete and satisfying, but a food bank can make that $2 or $5 go soooo much further than you can.
Just donate the cash.
And, then they also don't need to assign staff to sort, manage, and figure out how to distribute the random donations.

The science is clear - SNAP reduces food insecurity, improves health outcomes, and lower healthcare costs.
Although fed judges ruled the admin can NOT withhold SNAP disbursements, it appears they plan to do just that.

Well, a lead is nice, but this doesn’t feel like we’re done yet.

Ouch. Hit it just a little harder and that goes through. But here we go.

If Yamamoto can get out of this inning and the Dodgers can score in the 10th, it could be his third win of the series. Guaranteed MVP if that happens.

Good lord. The best thing about this moment is that Kirk is a pretty solid double play opportunity if he grounds the ball. Not saying the man is slow, but well, he really is. He’s also a damn reliable hitter, so that’s not great.

I take it back.
Rojas should not be trying to swing for the tie.
