Grand Theft Hamlet is available on Mubi now!
I'm at the age now where birthdays are profoundly depressing, so if anyone wants to say anything nice, please feel free.

What happened to this kid? Used to be kinda sweet.

I voiced a few creepy characters in this new survival horror FPS game from @FireshineGames called A.I.L.A. which is out today on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Haven’t had a chance to play it yet, but it looks great!

So pleased and proud of my friend and Grand Theft Hamlet co-director @pinnygrylls.bsky.social , who’s been selected as a BAFTA Breakthrough Talent for 2025.

She’s a brilliant person and deserves ALL the flowers x

I suppose this is my old-man-yells-at-cloud moment, but this makes me profoundly sad. MTV sparked something extremely creative in me as an 80s/90s kid, deepening my understanding of music and cinema, making me think more creatively about both. I wouldn't be an artist without it x

Absolutely delighted that Grand Theft Hamlet has won the Grierson Award for Best Popular Culture Documentary 2025!

My new favourite tv show is PLURIBUS, a science fiction series from the creator of Breaking Bad about everyone in the world being made deliriously happy, and one miserable woman having to figure out what has happened. It's dark and hilarious and has possibly the best pilot episode I've ever seen

The people who acted as cheerleaders for this far-right “Labour” government should take a good long look at themselves

This will bring in no money at all, and will just be publicly cruel.

The Labour Party are finished, vote Green next year

Gotta admit, I didn't think being bought by Disney would reinvigorate this franchise, but with PREDATOR: BADLANDS out in cinemas, being really good and exceeding expectations financially, that's three great films in three years. We haven't ate this well since the original film...

It is pretty insane that the whole QAnon crowd and large sections of MAGA and the Tea Party movement were convinced Hillary Clinton ran a paedophile network, based on… no real evidence at all.

But now we have hard evidence of their hero Trump hiring Epstein and… crickets

Lovely to see that it's now considered cool and good to be a vehement lefty who loves socialism but if you called people like me a stupid naive cunt and dick-rode the reasonable centre between 2016 and 2024 I DO remember because I'm not above petty fuckery. Anyway. Welcome, comrade.

I know he does this all the time now, but it really cannot be stressed enough how openly, blatantly racist this man is, and the people in our industry who made excuses for him and kowtowed to him and his family connections should hang their heads in shame

If you have a Netflix account and time this weekend I would highly recommend checking out Guillermo del Toro's visually stunning new adaptation of FRANKENSTEIN. I caught it at the London Film Festival and it's a lovely reminder of some of the old-fashioned craft of filmmaking

Also, somebody has yassified our avatars from Grand Theft Hamlet and I don’t think I like this

Channel 4 shenanigans with my favourite posse

Just a reminder that this man deliberately fired depleted uranium shells into Fallujah, which caused babies to be born with deformities and cancer.

Sometimes evil men die, and you absolutely do not have to be respectful about it at all

A lot of people have asked me how HEDDA looks so damn good, and this goes into some detail explaining that, thanks to the incredibly talented Nia DaCosta and Sean Bobbit (who, bless him, tolerated my fanboying out at him a few times)

Happy Halloween!

If you fancy a trip to see something that really gets under your skin, then the new Yorgos Lanthimos film BUGONIA is out in UK cinemas today. I saw it a few weeks ago at the London Film Festival and have thought about it a lot since.

Creepy in all kinds of ways

If anyone wants to watch the beautiful new film HEDDA, which I show up in very briefly, it's now available worldwide on Amazon Prime Video.

I got to help make a big movie with an amazing director, incredible lead actress and lovely company.

That was a dream of mine, once.

❤️ x

Finally got round to watching the recent film adaptation of THE LONG WALK, which is on Prime Video now. I read the short story so many years ago, and its vision of a dark and nihilistic future seemed fanciful. Now I'm not so sure. Anyway, it's a good metaphor for where we are
