I love it. My mom used to call it New York’s great equalizer—you’ll see every walk of life on a train.

Her related theory was that the subway made NYC people more in touch with humanity than, say, LA people, who travel separate from others, in own cars all the time. (Again, her theory.)

Part of its brilliance is that it’s only like 8 scenes.

“Hyperbole” seems to be a very generous term here. Goodness gracious.

So many people don’t get the show.

A brilliant cover, especially given the events of the very next issue.

I’ll bite: “The Glass Hammer” was the name of a demonstration screenplay UCLA professor Lew Hunter wrote in his book, “Screenwriting 434.”

The real kicker is that—if I remember correctly—some faction of conspiracy theorists believes that the guy about to take office is actually a med-bed-aided JFK in disguise. So he’s even older than most people realize!

Hard agree. Terrible satire.

The nagging notion I had was “why am I watching this when I could be watching Dr. Strangelove?”

So I went out and watched Strangelove again the next day, and fell in love with it all over again.

The Hood River area has a bunch of good ones. (That I can’t remember a specific one isn’t super-helpful, I know.)

Iowa, on the other hand…

I love this book, and read it to my sons a few years back. It does such a great job of giving a full, rich telling of an incredible life.

Very excited to see all the math-skeptical critiques of this edition.

Loved this episode. Couldn’t agree more on the fat-free-ness of the script—and the point about how much of it is told visually.

I’ll also echo a point you made here earlier, but didn’t seem to make the episode: D’Onofrio’s physical acting is brilliant.
