I see it as Ronnie having been brought in to be a temporary obstacle, and for such a role, Slezak brought the maximum heart and skill to it. It was a good way to keep the spectre of Monica alive post-funeral, milk some drama. I think a lot of viewers enjoyed it? #GH

In the long view, since soaps are ultimately moralistic, we know that Leslie and Joey will get their “just desserts”. But the softening of Leslie in moments has definitely suggested there is more there than evil, so when she falls, the audience won’t *just* applaud, but they’ll feel for her.

I’m not sure I’d agree, but let’s say you’re 100% right. Why would that be a problem? Right now on Bold, Y&R, all the stories are things HAPPENING TO Forresters/Logans/Spencers and Newman/Abbotts/Winters. It also helps that Eva, Leslie, Joey are compelling, entertaining.
