Huge Wii fan here and I really enjoyed Mario Galaxy 2 on release. Great to see the re-release finally coming.
It's a stellar (interstellar?) experience. Here was my final review paragraph at the time. I gave it a 10/10. 🔥

I used to love gaming. Cute characters. Challenging gameplay. Genres galore. Browsing stores for things that appealed to me... Seeing tech used in fun ways. Then it became just another war - for your money. Coupled with rancid online algorithms, the gaming sphere can be a toxic hell hole at times.

Have Kept a PS2 for years for this game. Astonishing game. Still gutted it didn't come to Gamecube due to EA. 😅

Thanks! Another image which is my favourite track: Southern Island. They are all good / unique in my opinion. Like you said, a decomp (or rom hack) would be amazing - for more tracks alone!

Still my GOAT racer. This and 1080 Snowboarding on N64 define the 'simcade' genre. IE: arcade sensibilities with home console depth. Galling that the genre has all but disappeared. Thankfully these deep, gameplay focused experiences remain timeless. 😮💨🔥

As a non 'hardcore' Banjo player I've found it brutal. Agree RE: Timers. Feels like it needed playtesting by casual (or atrophied) Banjo gamers. Huge shame I can't see it all due to the difficulty. It's like an 85% in N64 magazine, but easily 90%+ with a few timer tweaks. @kurkogames.bsky.social
