The court ruled that judges have the right to publicly express their opinion on matters of public interest. It also estimated that the Facebook posts didn't amount to incitement, as it was considered by the Romanian authorities.

The documentary has sent shockwaves across #Romania, with over 2.5 million views in just 2 days. Protests were held Wednesday & Thursday evening. 180 judges and prosecutors published an open letter backing the magistrates who testified.

On top of that, Liberty Galați — the company owning the steel plant — is under investigation by Romanian prosecutors for tax evasion and embezzlement exceeding €300 million. The alleged schemes involved foreign companies, including Russia’s Gazprom.
