In Galaţi, #Romania 's largest & historic steel plant is on the verge of collapse. Debt has surpassed €1 billion. Over half of the 3000 remaining workers have been told to stay at home, as production has almost entirely stopped. People haven't been paid since August.

Russian figures close to the Kremlin are mounting a last-minute attempt to halt the extradition from Dubai of a Romanian-French mercenary wanted in Romania for plotting a coup, the Guardian can reveal.
Horațiu Potra, a shadowy former French Foreign Legionnaire, was arrested at Dubai airport on 24 September alongside his son and nephew as they prepared to board a flight to Moscow. « La décision des Etats-Unis est de suspendre la rotation en Europe d’une brigade qui avait des éléments dans plusieurs pays de l’OTAN », a précisé le ministère de la défense roumain, ajoutant qu’environ 1 000 soldats américains resteraient déployés sur son territoire après cette réévaluation.

Géographie & guerre. Inopérante depuis des années, la ligne ferroviaire directe Kyiv-Iasi-Bucarest vient de réouvrir (24h sur les rails quand même), faisant que l'Ukraine est désormais connecté directement à Varsovie, Budapest, Vienne, Bucarest, et assez facilement, Cracovie, Prague, Bratislava

Update - The Court of Appeal maintains the decision of the Electoral commission.
The party Moldova Mare which the Electoral Commission had banned from the race on Friday (for illegal Russian financing, among others) is still on the ballot papers, as judges are still examining the appeal.
