On holiday in Bormio. Mountains are lovely even though the Stelvio Pass is closed for a landslide. We are surrounded by would-be Fausto Coppi struggling uphill (and by photos of Coppi on his bike in the town).

Field trip to the Jane Austen Centre in Bath with Literature and the Marketplace students. I could mention literary tourism, the Austen phenomenon, fandom, commodification (tea with Mr Darcy, anyone?), but really the best thing is dressing up in Regency clothes - best fashion for both sexes.

I remember Barnier gave Davis "Annapurna" as a present at the start of Brexit negotiations. I assume as a metaphor. Have you read anything by Reinhold Messner? We went to Brunico and he is everywhere, incl a museum of mountaineering designed by Zaha Hadid that looks like the lair of a Bond villain.
