The problem with screens and progressive lens glasses is that to read, you need to look down. My lids droop so much they blur the text. This is the only weight related skin surgery I’d consider because of poor healing, and it would be to improve vision.

The brilliance of good curriculum: science fair experiment counting apple seeds, math recipe (fractions/shapes/measurements) for apple dumplings. I had to make it, because it sounded so 1970s, calling for lemon lime soda and crescent roll dough. Students had so much fun.

Guinea pigs are excellent support animals. They are vocally responsive, fairly slow moving, can’t jump or climb over walls, and generally are not aggressive. There are rescues in many urban areas. Mine work in my autism school classroom office.

Might I recommend Guinea pigs as starters? They are generally gentle, do not run fast or jump, and are not as stinky. They can be litter trained.
