I am a software developer, a man with a beard, and generally a friendly and curious person.
I am also interested in vintage computers, chess, weight and functional training, electronics (& making stuff with 3d printing), and modular synthesizers.
2 PLLs. What are you using them for?

It's interesting how different ppl are. I can play FP Games without issues and don't get seasick. But i tumbled and fell when i was in an amusement park with a projection dome cinema showing a rollercoaster POV video. Had to kneel down while it was playing

somebody: "but you got into Eurorack to get away from your computer after work. Remember? Cables! Knobs!"

<hunched over keyboard>
me: "oh let me just finish that Strudel script making some bubbly music"

Yes, power consumption is an issue. And it produces quite a bit of heat. On the other hand, the Zero could be too slow maybe?
I have a PI400 somewhere in my drawers (used it for retro gaming) and a small monitor, maybe I'll try that. Need an HDMI audio splitter for that, the PI400 has no audio jack

There is an offline app:
strudel.cc/learn/pwa/
So you'll need npx at least.
Isn't there some kind of Eurorack module with a Raspberry Pi and display? But it would need to be quite wide as a module. Working as an external device would probably be better (cheaper :-))
Offline 🚀 Strudel

yeah, you don't want to write novels on that screen :-)
I'm very fascinated by Strudel REPL (strudel.cc). This ain't the same, but it's in the same direction
Strudel REPL

Some models make great sounds when being printed. My Prusa made lovely sounds when it printed cylinders

Semi modular prices are still sane, yes
November 16, 2025 at 4:41 PM
Yeah, never used it for serious typing. Wrote the Python application on my PC and copied it to the Raspberry Pi. Needed a small keyboard to log in and to start the application. Didn't even use the trackpad

You can do a lot by slamming the door or pressing buttons. All you need is a CV controlled actuator 💪
