I am a software developer, a man with a beard, and generally a friendly and curious person. I am also interested in vintage computers, chess, weight and functional training, electronics (& making stuff with 3d printing), and modular synthesizers.

Which rabbit hole? It's more like a secret super villain bunker 😃

Ordered a small table for the mixer. Moving away the Commodore C64 broke my nerdy heart

Yes. Or from computation, like euclidian rhythms. Much to be discovered :-)

Now I am more interested in creating one of those strange sequencers, which uses real world data as an input or similar stuff.
What kind of modules do you create or make? (2)

Oh, a DIY person, wonderful :-)
My plan when starting Eurorack was, to buy "the boring" modules & the ones I'm not interested in making.
Started making my own module based on an ESP32 (& additional 12bit DACs) months ago (been lazy). Playing around with a Lorenz attractor, but my focus changed (1)

Is it more expensive in Australia or cheaper?
marcuspbu.bsky.social
I don't have a point of reference here, didn't test any other mixer. It was only based on what I read.
Compared to Eurorack prices it is quite a steal. MG12XU is at 380EUR here, for the MG12XU. For 320EUR in Eurorack land you'll get a (simpler) Cre8audio Assembler with 10 inputs

For my taste If feels a bit plasticy on the surface. Didn't use others like models from Soundcraft or Mackie, they are often described as rugged and heavy

Or a second table? 😂

This is the previous setup...now the second case moved on top of the first one, scope had to go as well

Bought an used Yamaha MG12XU mixer. Erica synth Link ist my 5 channel attenuator. It's a little sad that the Commodore 64 won't fit on the desk any more...now they have to take turns #eurorack #yamaha #synthsky

Has anyone tried "Strudel"? Been watching a few videos and it almost feels like "home" for me as a "keyboard warrior" :-)

Or hallucinate and use libraries/classes/methods or features that don't exist. Nowadays I reply to every answer from ChatGPT with "are you sure?"

Tragic case of herd death?

The patching friend we all deserve 😂

Didn't update yet, but saw a short on YT about it. There was something about project organisation and increased grain size. Anything else?
marcuspbu.bsky.social
Yes, like many sequencers can do

A few months ago, I bought the Oxi One and used it occasionally. At some point, however, I mainly played around with generative patches. It's a fine machine with many options, and after not really using it for some time, I forgot a lot of basic stuff. Bad brain 😥 #synthsky #oxione

So many nice apps in there. Have you found one that is worth trying out?
marcuspbu.bsky.social
You're not even trying

Work from home. Solved it for ya

Attended a symposium "Bit-Archäologie 2025" at the Stuttgart Computer Museum over the weekend and was able to take part in a guided tour of the museum afterwards

O_C Phazerville app of the day: "Burst" generates a series of triggers when triggered. Number and distance between generated triggers are configurable via UI or CV. Pretty useful for ratcheting #phazerville #eurorack #synthsky
