As an ex-OTO who spent the last 8 years denouncing it as little more than a Fan Club with added cosplay and the occasional neonazi, I can't say many good things about it either.

ADDENDA: I finally watched it all. It's a Levenda's masterclass, and he pulls no punches in calling out nazis and Christian fundamentalism. Jesse Michels states he's Jewish, which I did not know. I think this is a bit of a watershed for American Alchemy...

So yes, I remain more than a little skeptical about Jesse Michels and American Alchemy given their track record so far, and I am not suddenly pretending that platform is harmless or neutral.
At the same time, having Peter’s voice and perspective in that particular arena is, in my book, a win. 🔚

And yet, there is a twist. One of the writers for American Alchemy is a young man, maybe a little too starry-eyed, who has attended pretty much every course I have organised with Peter over the last two years, including our Joshua Tree retreat. ⬇️

That is not only because of his public and well-documented association with Peter Thiel and the Thiel orbit, but also because American Alchemy keeps giving its platform to the usual suspects in the alt-right conspiracy sphere, with Jason Jorjani as the latest and most egregious example. ⬇️

I started watching it too (it's morning here in the UK), and looking at the comments it seems clear that Michels' usual viewers aren't too happy. Which is already good in my book.

In Joshua Tree we refused attendance to several people with incredibly dodgy backgrounds (to put it mildly), so I would argue let’s see what the episode is actually about.🔚

Anyway he convinced both parties to record the episode as a way to offer an alternative voice and perspective on American Alchemy.
I haven’t watched the episode yet, but I discussed the thing with Peter, and I continue to trust his better judgment. He’s been doing this longer than most of us ⬇️
