Everyone loves to dunk on viral AI fails — the weird hands, the glitchy voices, the chatbot meltdowns. Cute. But here’s the thing: while we laugh at AI’s quirks, the tech is quietly replacing jobs *for real*.

Energy spent memeing about bad AI art could be energy spent demanding serious policies.

All the right-wing free speech warriors will be expressing their outrage over TikTok banning/blocking all criticism of Israel right? Not holding my breath.

Same people out there now dropping portentous, stentorian posts about The Battle Against Fascism ... were unwilling to look awkward or be mocked online for supporting Trump's only opponent.

If corporations bankroll authoritarianism, they don’t get our dollars.

Let’s organize a Spending Strike—pausing non-essential spending to hit Trump’s corporate and oligarch backers where it hurts.
Economic pressure is peaceful.
Silence is expensive.

Let’s call for a Spending Strike—a pause on discretionary spending—to pressure the corporations and oligarchs propping up Trumpism.

No shopping. No upgrades. No extras.

Our money funds democracy—or it doesn’t move.

Using chemical weapons on your citizens. So gross and barbaric.

Your own government doing this to a citizen is insane. Awful.
The White House is just outright admitting that it's posting fake and misleading information about a defendant who has been criminally charged by the feds.

Spam and scam calls are out of control.

It’s now so bad that legitimate business calls often go unanswered because people assume every unknown number is a scam.

Phone companies need to fix this—and if they won’t, governments should force the issue.

Bari Weiss was right about how to improve the “60 Minutes” CECOT report, Graeme Wood argues—but her “drama-detector, so refined when seeking out news stories, seems to have failed her when avoiding it in her own newsroom.”

These fake George Will AI videos are pretty mind-blowing. Based on the comments I read, doesn’t seem like people realize it’s AI.

This report should have panicked everyone on the left into concerted, coordinated effort to address the information asymmetry. But as far as I can tell it just came & went & Dems are still in "buy TV ads about affordability" mode.
The right dominates the online media ecosystem, seeping into sports, comedy, and other supposedly nonpolitical spaces
As Americans increasingly get their news from online shows and streamers, the influence of this media ecosystem becomes more prominent — and Media Matters has found that the most popular of this conte...

I can't wait for this travesty to be bulldozed
Exclusive: President Trump has argued with the architect he handpicked to design a White House ballroom over the size of the project, reflecting a conflict between architectural norms and Trump’s grandiose aesthetic.
Trump wants a bigger White House ballroom. His architect disagrees.
The president and James McCrery had argued in recent weeks over the project’s size, with Trump pushing him to expand the ballroom.

We’re watching an AI boom with zero guardrails — and it’s looking like a bubble waiting to burst. Before hype turns into harm, we need oversight, transparency, and real regulation. Protect the public. Protect the economy. #RegulateAI #AIGovernance #AIBubble

AI is moving faster than our laws — and the risks are growing. We need real transparency, real oversight, and real regulation now to protect democracy, workers, and the public. Innovation can’t come at the cost of accountability. #RegulateAI #AIGovernance
