The alternative to a "PR stunt" is to allow international reporters into Gaza to report facts. Israel still won't allow this - it has been 2 years.

@hernandesraph.bsky.social , @porcelinad.bsky.social and I spent the better part of a year watching and analysing how far right ideology is shared in open Facebook groups: here is what we found: www.theguardian.com/world/ng-int... with immense help from Pablo Gutiérrez, Garry Blight, Lydia McMullan
Inside the everyday Facebook networks where far-right ideas grow
The Guardian spent a year studying an online community trading in anti-immigration sentiment and misinformation. Experts say such spaces can play a role in radicalisation

"The Israeli government will not allow international reporters into Gaza to do their work and to document freely what they see. International journalists must now be allowed into Gaza to share the burden with Palestinian reporters there so we can all bring the facts to the world."

As a journalist who has faced trolling, doxxing, death threats in the past 23 months of reporting on Gaza, I welcome these comments from Laura Davison, NUJ general secretary who says “efforts to silence, bully and intimidate journalists will always be condemned by the union.”
In a statement published today, the NUJ says “without greater condemnation of the violence against journalists whether through death threats, doxxing, trolling, stalking or in-person abuse, we risk significant threats to media freedom.”

What struck the Gaza Aid Flotilla? After we published the story, the Tunisian Ministry of Interior issued a statement describing the incident “that took place yesterday” as a “premeditated attack” stating that an investigation had been launched.”

I spoke to the Reuters Institute about my last investigation into Israeli fire on Palestinian food seekers: “Israel has continued to block access to foreign journalists, which means that I have had to rely on visual evidence uploaded by civilians or Israeli soldiers."
