Unlike last season, you can't get negative points so even at a clip of about 50 points per match it shouldn't take too long. I actually got the delphoxite while I was still in the middle of making my way through the story, so as long as you aren't deadset on high performance it's not too bad.

Well, in ranked mode all pokemon are set to level 50 regardless of what they were before, so as long as you've got some fully evolved pokemon with decent moves you should be able to perform well enough to at least get the mega stones (rank y for greninjite and rank s for delphoxite this season).

I will say that with how they adjusted the point tallying system and the lower rank requirement for the kalos starter mega stones this season it only took me 4 battles to get the mega delphox stone ✨
