I can’t remember what the stage show did but I realized in Wicked Part 1 they don’t use the term witches. Galinda wants to be a sorceress. Morrible teaches a sorcery seminar. For Part 2 it’s just Glinda the Good (no witch). Only Elphaba is called a witch. Is it some sort of Ozian perjorative?

I’m still not hopeful about this adaptation and not a fan of the casting and the trailer seems to be a different story BUT the initial promo using romance novel fonts and framing? Feels closer to the vibes than the somber prestige adaptations of the past. Gotta give them that.

Today one of the medical students I taught pelvic exams to said that it was “educational but also fun”. I’m the fun teacher!
