What's the matter with you people? The NHS just saved my husband's life while we were away from home, different area of the country, different hospital, different doctor for after care ... the app was invaluable, the care and expertise superb. Stop knocking it, the app is a tool, learn to use it

We formed our Friends of Freshwater Library (Isle of Wight) in 2012 ... we saved our library from closure not by chaining ourselves to the railings but to transfer ownership of the building and then organize so many community groups and activities the council doesn't dare to close us.

We run, among many other things, a film club and the money we've raised is paying for a solar panel system on the roof of our much loved 1939 library ... libraries refuse to die

I'm enjoying 'The Warm Hands of Ghosts' by Katherine Arden; it's not deep literature but it's interesting, a bit quirky, really well written and the characters are already living in my house which is a good sign...

I've finally managed to finish 'Butter' and have the pleasure of picking my next read ... I wish I hadn't already read 'Still Life', in fact twice, as reading it for the third time might be an indulgence too far
