Male. 26. NSFW. All I do is retweet stuff and ramble about games I finish sometimes. Umineko, Utawarerumono, Baldr Sky, LoGH = peak fiction. Metal Gear Solid 2 is masterful.

Anyways, I also wanted to mention The Shell III as being particularly noteworthy. It technically came out ages ago but released this year on Steam. It has some issues but the art was great, villain was perfect, and I loved the finale. Its the kind of story that makes you feel ill(in a good way).

Sure its not the case for everyone, but I believe that some aspect of these types of games will kindle a passion in folks. One that will lead them to become fans and to want to capture the same feelings that initial spark gave them.

-basically anything on social media. Somehow E33 has been flooded with xenophobia(and xenophilia tbh) despite the developer's inspirations being plain as day. It might be my naivety but I truly believe that, for most people, games like E33 and BG3 lead to folks trying out other games in those genres

There were so many other games I played this year that I love. I enjoyed E33 but I place it in the same spot as something like Baldurs Gate 3. Both are excellent introductions to their respective genres but are by no means the apex. I dont think you can have an honest or helpful discussion about-

Its just so very impressive to me that they were able to take a messy and, honestly, bad first game and not only make it better in every way but also tell a unique story that remains as my favorite interpretation of the Grail War. youtu.be/hyH2inDY9eI?...

The best game I played in general this past year is a lot tougher to narrow down. I'm inclined to also give that to HL but I think it might be Fate/Extra CCC. Its not the most fun game to play but I love the concept of the sequel to a game being the 'far side' of the original. Nasu really killed it.

Oh one last thing. Trails really needs to knock it off with all the fake-out deaths. I'm not saying every character should die and I'm ok with it once or twice but it feels like its constantly happening in these games. Anytime a character gets hurt now I feel no worry or suspense.

Now that I'm finally done catching up I can get to CS4.I still have no clue why Estelle/Joshua werent around for the CS3 finale, really seems like they should have showed up.Rean is still my favorite protagonist. CS3 is my favorite so far. This series is really cool and I wish I played them earlier.

My favorite member of the SSS is Tio but I also gotta give a shoutout to Randy. In CS3 I didnt trust the guy at all and thought he was being setup to be a villain but these games show that was a foolish thought.

He reminds me a lot of Fandaniel but at least that dude fucking killed it in Endwalker so perhaps something like that will happen to Campanella. I only mention this because every second of his screentime is time that could have been spent on literally any other member of Ouroboros.

Azure could have really REALLY used an epilogue. I dont hate this one but it cements the Crossbell games as the worst arc by far for me(assuming CS4 is good). I want to take a minute to say that Campanella is the biggest jobber I've ever seen I cannot believe this guy shows up so much. Negative aura

Its very odd. Its not like the game has a huge cast or good villains. Tio, Randy, Wazy, Noel all have a lot going on but what I would have assumed to be the highlight of the cast going into this arc is just kind of there. I was glad to see Towa Herschel despite her having like 3 lines.

Its such a shame too. For the first 3-ish chapters I was starting to think this might be the best Trails game, maybe 2nd best. Upscaling still looks beyond godawful. I feel like Elie had shockingly little to do in this. Like some really dire stuff happens to her and its glossed over.
