Agreed! I mean there will be public info that can be /is getting shared through networks already doing the work, like immigration lawyers and advocates. I’m wondering how teachers—who are often the first person kids ask for help—can connect to that to be more informed and prepare

As a new ESL teacher, I taught with 10 veterans. Sadly they weren’t helpful. Then I joined 🐦 and found you! Not only did I feel I’d found a mentor—you set an example as a teacher who is always ready to share for the benefit of the kids. I’ve tried to do the same. Thank you(Back then I was Ms Flecha)

tools could be created to build their indep. They collab w/ peers at school but can’t when at home. I want to try to create a bot - like one that can generate sentence starters for them based on questions they copy and paste from an assignment. Like how do we make AI similar to assistive tech?

I have been using playlab.ai to create a bot that is kind of a one-stop shop for kids who might otherwise just google an unknown word. It prompts them to ask if they want to know cognates, synonyms, translations and the like. I teach 11th grade SLIFE students and have been pondering what other AI
