Trans, mother and housespouse, early 40s. If you followed me because of a meme or I had something nice to say about Peter S. Beagle, I apologize with tongue in cheek; you'll find me dubious company.
Mostly here for the musicians, artists and sex workers.
I think about that short story collection a lot. Marks of Aegis, Self-Care, the title story, I Am A Beautiful Bug, My Noise Will Keep The Record, The Heavy Things.

It's a few years old now, but can I recommend Everybody On The Moon Is Essential Personnel, by Julian K. Jarboe?

Okay!
You do have my permission. Everyone always told me Paradise Lost was great, and it wasn't, it somehow became worse right at the end. That's what it took for me to finally learn that some things aren't worth finishing.

But, whether ultimately you like it or not, I *hope* you enjoy my favorite.

Between 3 and 5, I probably would have left 5 off the list, not because of any particular dislike for 5, but because I wouldn't wanna have to decide whether to classify Feris as male or female for purposes of the chart.

I love 6, but if it doesn't grip you, then life's too short for mediocre media. You have my permission not to care much about my favorite FF game and to let it go. ^_^

And since in the NES version at least the four light warrior kids seem male-coded, that should mean at least a *little* dialogue between a male and a female character.
Maybe they just forgot it, or left it out because it was less interesting on the list. (I couldn't get into 3. I REALLY tried.)

Dunno, prolly something about Walmart, but I remember that one fondly too. Especially since, despite being a little hard on the ears at times, it was also actually better than the Most Wanted Song.

3 isn't on the list, are there just literally no female characters in 3? It's been a while, it was never my favorite.

Apparently, The Cold Equations was the result of editor meddling by Joseph W. Campbell, repeatedly sending it back demanding the passenger die. The author kept finding ways for that to not happen, and Campbell wasn't having it.
Figgers it was Campbell.

There could be a playlist. Is Nick Cave's "Brompton Oratory" too obscure, or is its sacrilegious content enough to make the cut?
