I feel like Tate McCrae does everything a desperate new pop star would do - blandly agreeable music, full-court-press sex appeal, constantly thirsting for exposure, etc etc

I liked this album, but it may well as have been titled “On The Nose.” It’s not the slightest bit subtle, which sometimes works to the record’s benefit, and sometimes made me want to groan/laugh at how fucking ridiculous it’s being.

It’s very telling that after giving the album no less than a perfect score they quietly stuck it at 15 - too high to admit that they were dead wrong but just low enough to say “yeah we KINDA overreacted.”
