It wasn't too bad. 500m or so from the car. The battery wasn't so suitable, and he went QRT somewhat abruptly. 😂

If there's enough interest, I'll get a batch made. It's just a case of separating and soldering the two paddles on squarely!
I need to turn the sensitivity down a bit, they're a bit keen at the moment, but I've made QSOs with it!
If I make a few, I'll need to find UNC 4-40 thumb screws.

They're cheap. Check eBay, AliExpress, etc., cheap and plentyful.

These RF parts are pretty common. This is 100R, 250W. You can get higher power, and also 50R.

Yeah. All my stuff has flown many times.
The main rule is that any large battery needs to be below 100Wh, and labelled. It must be in hand luggage. No batteries in the hold.
They may ask you what it it is. They may as to see it turned on.
To Japan and US, both flights asked to see the battery.

There's plenty more at it - These are all S01WS, S09M and S0S going back to 2015.

Modes like FT4 and FT8 must be like a licence to print money for the more rare DXCC stations. Set WSJT-Z to auto CQ, make a drink, return to $50 USD 😂 I need to move.

Well, the first bug on the KX3 is fixed - no more ERR IOB - swapped out the IO expander B device after the thermal camera showed it getting hot for no reason. Came out fairly cleanly!
Next job to check the RX path and update the firmware. #hamradio

Finally got around to sorting out the ADIFs and logs from various portable jaunts around Europe over the past few months. Just need to get my EA8/M1GEO/P certificate (I missed requesting it previously)
