Convos with my teen:
"You know how stale cake is hard and stale biscuits are soft?"
"Yeeess..."
"So if you mixed cake batter with biscuit dough in the right ratio, you could have 'unstaleable" cake!"

Watching this old man take a water bottle and slowly walk into a mist of tear gas is going to stay with me. Everything they do to make people scared empowers them all the more.
Protester in Minneapolis just before disappearing in gas: "Fuck you! Stop. Damn! I'm 70 years old and I'm fuckin' angry!"

Alex Pretti "used to tell people off when they made sexist comments to female physicians. He bought me coffee when I had a really bad day as an intern...I laughed alongside him daily. He made a point to teach medical residents without judgement, but with a smile on his face and a joke."

That was in no way a defensive shooting, it was an execution, poured and simple.

A local rapid response group I work with is desperately trying to raise $5K tonight to get immediate legal representation for a group member who is facing deportation. It is crucial that these funds be raised by tomorrow. These are organizers I trust.

This however has made me a bit more optimistic...
It is National Cuddle Up Day!

Affirmation Coyote appreciates the wish for their human friends to cuddle with coyotes, but they should set their expectations for this happening way low.

Hoping 2026 won't continue in the manner it has started - less than a week in and my husband has already been in hospital!

I have a theory - there are 2 types of people in the world
1. People who take after 8's out of the box along with their little sleeve, and
2. People who take the chocolate leaving the sleeve (or return the sleeve to the box immediately upon eating).
My theory concerns WHY this split exists 1/2

Ugh - always hits me that I am properly old when I am about ready to go to bed early but I remember my eldest isn't home yet so I'll be sat on the sofa fighting sleep for a while...

While doing this and that this afternoon, I watched champagne problems on Netflix. It's an average hallmark style film but worth watching purely for Flula Borgs character, Otto. Why no one has done smashcut of all of his bits on YouTube yet I don't know!

Its a gloomy grey overcast sort of day here so I really enjoy a sunny splash of a post!
🧵Spotted on Market Day in Aotearoa New Zealand:

A tiny human (2?) is hugging Dad around the neck.
But wait!
He's not a tiny human!
He's a BIG SHARK!
And he's gonna eat Dad's face!
Making mighty munching "UM UM UM" noises as laughter bubbles up from Dad's tummy. (1)

Absolutely love these seasonal glimpses of the other side of the world!
🧵Spotted at a Country Christmas Market in Aotearoa New Zealand:

Two small humans (Twins? 4?) in floral dresses and increasingly dishevelled pigtails are rolling over and over on a grass lawn.
Spinning around and falling over with much aplomb while roaring that they are: "VERY ROLLY POLLY!" (1)

My neighbour and 24 of her friends/family get together every year and make an advent calendar - everyone takes one day and makes 24 presents to be exchanged with other participants. I'm posting in this thread what I got this year (mostly to make it easy for my Mum to see) #neighbourhood #wholesome

Why?! I finally remembered my new elastic laces were delivered last month at a moment when I am not rushing out the door and have time to put them in (I am one handed before you judge me) and now I can't remember where I put them!
