Was just setting off to come to this, but it seemed unduly dark ... Visit to that multinational car store tomorrow for a new headlight bulb (and fitting). Doesn't seem long since the last replacement 😠 Hope the talk goes well!

Oh, the Unitarian Chapel on Victoria Street, built in 1864 after the demolition of the earlier Unitarian Chapel some distance away on Warner's Lane in the town centre. Later this was a meeting place for local suffragettes. Now divided into flats. Thanks @leicsvcht.bsky.social for sharing.

I publicise my place #Loughborough by writing regular blogposts (mix of historical, current & changing town environment and buildings) writing books, leading guided walks (I'm an accredited walk leader) and giving presentations. Much of the audience is on a Lboro Fbk group.

The stillness, the ancientness, the crunch of boot on path, the twitter of birds, the plink of rain on leaves - my lyrical wax is contained only by word count 😀

Not all, but mostly, including the wonderful ghost sign, canal side. I know it's more expensive but conversion would have made some great apartments and still left us with some of our built and industrial heritage. Sighhhh #losingbattle
