I well know! The nana would have gone unvisited this weekend if the teen had been more teenager-like & slept-in of a Sunday, I'm not going next or near it of a normal Sunday, nevermind a Christmas one

At a wedding a few years ago another guest says ' they're not real, they're like mermaids, just stories for kids' mmm sorry ma'am my now 14yo was an #octonauts obsessed toddler & yes, they & siphonophores & oarfish & blob fish & a whole encyclopaedia of marine life are real & haunting my memory bank

I believe it goes further back tho, it's a deeply anti-feminist sentiment too, the things communities fight for are most often for families - schools, playgrounds, care facilities, sports facilities, & it's women who lead these fights

People out of politics, to keep them dependent on the whims of those in government to get grace & favor type allocation of funds
The water protests scared the shit of the political parties here because they were a genuine grassroots movement & they will do anything to stop that happening again

Does it have to be the bog tho? So few seats, it's damp, it's screechy
Crossroads? Walls for our arses, or to lean on, less damp, only screechy when the boys in their cars go by, we can dance??

I've just added to my head cannon that it's just their way of saying '42', the original inscrutable meme, so I'm cool with all the new nerdlings & their towels

Massively important thread!
The people who fundraise for local initiatives, like a hospice, are energetic, engaged, motivated, if they weren't busy with a local campaign imagine what else they could accomplish? I believe it's a SOP for politicians to keep 'keep them busy', to keep community-minded

But what is never a part of the conversation around the #LateLateToyShow Appeal is how the process strongly contributes at a societal level to people who need services too frequently having to rely on charity, not rights, to get their needs met.

This is fundamentally wrong.

Only have the OH by default because we have the kids, don't use it but with 3 teens it's definitely saved a few grey hairs 'will u pick me up?" "Sure where are you?" "Ahhh.. I think, ... ???"
Or the bus is late

I'm always grateful for the location finder for my 3 teens, I know they are safe, if they're on their way home, I can pick them up from the train/bus or party, as a parent I don't see it as spying, I am entitled to know where they are until they are 16/17
When they're adults it's difficult

As a small family, we never have too big a turkey as there is never more than 7 here but when our kids were small we started to have Christmas dinner on 24th so on 25th it was just leftovers & Lego & reading & movies
Platter it up after dinner, re-heat or not, but usually only sandwiches on 26th
