A lot of the people quoting Dr. King only love him because he‘s dead and they’re able to manipulate his words and image for their bullshit.

When I was a kid I used to have nightmares about terrible monsters and alien invasions... Now, my nightmares mostly involve me having a hard time finding a good parking spot... and those dreams are much more disturbing to me.

Most of the politicians and activists they claim are on the "Left" are really somewhere in the middle (or worse...still upholding the status quo). They do this to keep you from looking at the actual radical Left. I wish these people really were the threat to the system that they are made out to be

The problem with actively courting mainstream/pop success is that we end up with a very unhealthy relationship with people who are only exploiting us for their benefit. Their callous, offensive and often misinformed opinions mean waaaaaaaay too much to us

Hot take: No matter much we love em... most comedians are not necessarily "truth tellers" first and foremost, and a lot of the energy directed at them might be better used when directed at the media and our elected officials instead of people who make their living telling dick jokes.

Nas and Preem did it *(IMO). They made a project that shows a reverence for Hip Hop culture and it's participants as a whole. Premier PRODUCED the album, in other words they made the songs together, with Preem making sure that the overall vision of each song was fulfilled.

When we stood on stages at those shows & open mics … u almost got the full spectrum of black expression. We were gods, gangstas and literally everyone in between. Hip Hop is as diverse as WE are … no matter what you’re being shown in the mainstream
