Work has me abroad, and that's a lovely thing.

Dear Google,
I am the same imperial-measurement understanding soul when I'm in Europe as I am in the US. I know the people who grew up here know how long a meter is; I am not one of those people.
Sincerely,
Give me back my miles & yards

These were super simple lines drawings; each just a few strokes with a broad brush.

So imagine this image, super simplified, and if the wrappings were more like a cocoon that was pinched on each end.

The final candyload! 90% of this has already been packaged up and given away. Over 20# of chocolate used.

Chocolate covered PB balls--we are Illinois fans so we do NOT call these buckeyes. (Also, they do not have buckeye's famous bare spot.) The center is butter, PB & powdered sugar. Mix, knead, chill & roll into a gazillion little balls. Dip in milk chocolate. New tools needed--double-boiler, fridge
December 10, 2024 at 5:44 PM
Caramels--this recipe is from a friend of my mom's--sugar, corn syrup, butter, whipping cream, vanilla or bourbon, patience. Cooks for at least 2 hours. Tools needed--stove top, big pot, candy thermometer, measuring cups, 9x13 dish, spoon, luck of the gods. This didn't set up so it's caramel sauce.
December 10, 2024 at 5:44 PM
Peanut Clusters--1 part semi-sweet chocolate, 2 parts white chocolate, a smidge of baking chocolate, dry roasted peanuts--recipe makes many. Tools needed--slow cooker, scoop, counter space

iPhone mirroring with the new iOS is a little trippy, but I think I'm going to like it.

Opened Bluesky iPhone app, created this post, including adding Alt text, all from the Mac. (Screenshot came from the Mac but was Airdropped to the phone before adding the image to this post)

#WhatImReadingForWork We do a lot of experiential learning around here but we barely assess it.

And we all know assessment is to higher ed what pics are to social media posts.

Anyway, it's for a project.

Christmas-themed, delightful, sexy, and HFN/HEA

There are two more & I’ll get to them this week!

So glad
@oliviawrites.bsky.social posted about hers; that’s how I found the others.

Dear Etsy (and every other online retailer),

Can we have useful receipts? Ones that show specifically what we ordered?
So we can use the info to make future repeat or corrected orders?

Signed,
Someone who KNOWS the seller offered multiple versions but can't tell which ones were chosen

Since my post I' ve had 6 new political texts
November 4, 2024 at 12:45 AM
Dear Act Blue,

For the love of democracy, have you considered coordinating your text efforts?

Because I feel stalked.

I voted early.
I've donated.
And texting me 10x a day is NOT the way.

Nor are the scare tactics.

STAHP.

Signed,
Me

This not-neat nor tidy desert is a pumpkin spiced late cake. It was dense and moist and flavorful. Sooo good.
