i get why a lot of modern rpgs go for a "more is more" approach with itemization and economy - dopamine feel good and it matches the tempo of other genres - but it really does reduce those organic, tense moments that make a game satisfying and memorable.

of course you can cheese a pokemon campaign easily by sticking with a select couple or going out of your way to ensure type advantage, but playing on set and being curious about your various Creatures really does make for a compelling rpg experience.

money only comes from trainers, and the amount varies based on trainer type. it's rare i have potions on hand, because that money goes to pokeballs. i need a decent amount of pokeballs, because pokemon tend to be difficult to catch in this game.
