I stayed up until 2:00 am again finishing one of these. I immediately had to read reviews and scour the internet. The feeling was like when I first read that accursed wizard book series - completely sucked into the world’s rules. Funny to see reviewer Dennis Zhou also draw that comparison in the NYT

to the people already calling mamdani a traitor lol
idk why conservatives are panicking over mamdani. realistically, all his biggest promises will be fought by conservatives & establishment dems. he’ll underdeliver, lefties will get mad, and he’ll probably land somewhere near de blasio’s legacy

“Designers were always seen as the supplicant of art, like "art but for someone else." But they’re important because they work in collaboration. Peter Saville and Joy Division and Factory Records, or Cocteau Twins and Vaughan Oliver and 4AD, created these little flywheels of culture.

I can’t stop thinking about how bad this was! I googled more about Tyrese’s exes after reading this excerpt and then got targeted ads for lonely senior Christian singles.
Tyrese self-help book excerpts? Sorry, old photos, no alt.

In this part, Tyrese explains how porn works

Lawyers tend to be book nerds so my coworkers, classmates, and social groups often talk about literature. But I also am constantly doing “what’ve you been reading lately” with people around me ages 0-100. I also seek out friendships with peoplewhoreadalot and treasure these folks!!
I love books and find many amazing spaces online for people who love to read, but I feel like very few people in my IRL life ever talk about books.

Do the people in your life read? Family, friends, co-workers? How often do you hear people talking about books?

Curious what it’s like for others.

“If I burned my hand on your old-fashioned radiator,” Olivia had written, “I would still yearn for your heat.”

Sadly, I raised my hand to our Georgetown townhouse’s central heating vent. Once again, I was not the note’s intended recipient.
