This was standard practice in the UK until people started driving places. Getting children used to being bored out of their tiny minds before they were old enough to walk.

My wife (as a child) was left behind by her dad as he wandered home without the pram and had to be sent back to get her.

From earlier. There's a lot going on and even at 1/2000sec there's movement (it's cropped too) but this wagtail appears to be taking off vertically.

Lots of raptors about today. These three red kites were having a bit of a tussle and two went off elsewhere. They stayed a fair distance away so not the crispest images.
