As someone who's worked with children with communication difficulties I know that art is an essential form of self expression. This fantastic project set up, I think, in the wake of the Grenfell fire, is just such a precious community.

The basic problem with the temporary refugee status policy - especially one lasting up to 20 years - is it leads to very few removals (based on Denmark's experience) but does significantly worsen integration.

The volunteers were at Parliament today to hear the government announce that our beautiful memorial is to be made permanent. It was an emotional day, as we have fought so long and hard to ensure that our beloved dead are not forgotten. We are grateful and happy. ❤️

The great sociologist Kai Erikson has died at 94. Kai is known for his pioneering research on the impact of disasters on communities. His book, *Everything in its Path,* remains a landmark contribution to social science and a model to all of us who work to understand the human costs of crises. RIP
