I work with my hands. Wood, leather, metal, antler, and whatever else I can get my hands on. Father of 2 awesome boys, and husband to one amazing woman. Also Sage of the old internet and holder of the arcane technology that connects us to it.
This is my Grandfather in WWII. I thought you might like this one. He was from Sherbrooke, Quebec and was a PIAT gunner. Also perhaps a bit of a nut.

I wanted to make a simple bag to keep my work EDC (I work in IT). It hold all of the little things I need and compatible with MOLLE attachment systems. Made from Buffalo hide with a vegtan decorative panel. #Leatherworking #Maker

I was given an old speaker housing from a church. I decided to take the guts from an old Bluetooth box and build it into it! I cleaned it up, coated it with Tung oil, made an MDF box inside for stability, and made a new back from oak plywood to house the sub. It sounds great! #Woodworking #Maker

A couple more random projects. A wallet for a friend, and a plant stand for my front deck made from old wooden Ikea shelving. #Woodworking #Leatherworking #Maker

Here are a few little projects I have made. A notebook cover, Storage tin holder, and a big heavy chunk of wood to prep leather on. It really cuts down the noise! #Leatherworking #Woodworking #Maker

My wife is a knitter, and she made me this awesome cardigan out of Merino wool and silk yarn. I decided to make buttons for it out of antler and when she showed it to the store she buys her yarn from they wanted me to sell them some! I made a quick display for them as well. #Maker

I love restoring old tools, and a friend gave me these old hatchet heads. One appears to be a U.S. army issue, and the other is from a Canadian company called Walters. I cleaned up the head and filed off most of the mushrooming, and made handles from my black cherry tree. #Tools #Restoration

I started playing with copper last year. This is a leaf I created that I will be building into the water fountain. I forced a patina on it and sealed it, and will make some more for the water to flow down. #Maker

In the summer of 2022 I decided to make the yard a bit more cozy. I build a cabana, firewood shelter, a wattle fence to keep the dog out of the garden, and a rain barrel! #Woodworking #Maker #Gardening

A Family member had a house built at the site of an old airport. I just happened to have a piece of an old shipping crate from that very airport! I made this set of hooks for backpacks and re-used some aluminum to make key hooks. Rivets give it that airline feel. #Woodworking #maker

This is the woodworking part of my shop. I was lucky enough to grab a picture when it was clean! One of my hobbies is finding old rusty tools to restore and add to my shop, and you can see many of them on the wall.

This started out as a storage clipboard but ended up as more of a lap desk. Oak, leather and brass with splines made from an unknown wood that I picked up somewhere. This is the project I am most proud of so far.

My sister has an antique floor lamp that was damaged in a move. I spent a couple of weeks carefully restoring it and modernizing the wiring. I think it came out great!

I am starting to post my old projects. This one is from 2021 when I first started carving. These kuksas were given away as Christmas gifts.
