Yes, many of you have; but you were using language of emotion ("Pay a living wage!") rather than showing the math. My bad for not paying closer attention; your bad for not showing your work or coming up with workable solutions. Let's rectify it rather than cast blame

What We're Bracing For Thanks to brave supporters in Congress and in the public, we have won one victory, the passage of the bill to release the Epstein files. But we know the battle is far from over. As we approach the release of the files, here is what we are bracing for: 1. Attempts to blame the victims for our own or each other's abuse. Years ago, Epstein got away with abusing us by portraying us as flawed and bad girls. We cannot let his enablers use this tactic to escape accountability now. Some of us were neglected children.Some of us were used to recruit other girls our age. These were tactics that Epstein and Maxwell used as they ensnared victims and they are standard tactics of all sex traffickers. These tacties reflect on them, not on us 2. Incomplete disclosures. Other than redacting victim names, we want all the files disclosed. We ask oul champions in Congress and in the public to continue fighting to make sure all materials are released, not selected ones. 3. Threats to our physical safety, Many of us have already received death threats and other threats o1 harm. We are bracing for these to escalate. We ask every federal and state law enforcement agency tha has jurisdiction over these threats to investigate them and protect us 4. Efforts to pull us apart. We are already hearing efforts to suggest that victims who had reached the age of 18 were not really victims anymore. We denounce this outrageous argument. Some of us were over 18 when we were victimized. Some were vulnerable because of childhood sexual abuse. Some were vulnerable because of poverty. Some of us were assaulted by Epstein and Maxwell and their accomplices using force, intimidation, and violence. All of us were vulnerable because of life circumstances our young selves faced that were manipulated by Epstein and Maxwell and for which we were targeted. A 20 or 22-year-old is no match for a forceful and determined pair of hardened, methodical, middle-aged predators. We reject any claim that once a girl turned 18 she was fair game. Epstein and Maxwell used predator tactics against us. Their methods varied from girl to girl and young woman to young woman, but the common thread is the devastation their abuse left behind in each of us. Those girls and young women are fully adult women now, and we stand together resolutely against any attempt to divide us. It's outside Mexia and it's not a super popular park. I got an air conditioned cabin overlooking the lake on Labor Day weekend. This was the view.
My campsite fire in the fire ring is in the foreground and the lake at sunset is in the background. The view over the lake faces west so the sunset is spectacular. Bright golds fade to rose and magenta around the horizon and its all reflected onto the lake. Trees on the far shore are silhouette in black. As well as a tree on the near shore to the right of the photo.

They say swallows roost in there spring and summer. The sky is super blue. The River is low enough to walk across here. I did not. It was cold. The top of the cliffs have ash juniper cedars growing up there. This is a 9 banded armadillo who was not bothered at all by the campers. There were tons of them all over camp rooting around.

Same cardinal in the first Pic. He's hopped up on the picnic table at our campsite. He's perched on my orange dishwashing basin. You can see the yellow basin next to it. There's a blue igloo water cooler on the seat of the picnic table in front of it. Very colorful stuff going on. There's 2 Coffee Mate canisters on the table. Our tent is in the background.

I caught a pic of a male red cardinal in my campsite this morning. He's hopping around in fall leaves that are wet from a rain shower yesterday. There's a fallen log in the foreground and a tree trunk on the right. Cardinals are cool cuz they got that orange beak and black little bandit mask around their eyes. This is a very round plump fella.

I've been meaning to post these for a while.
Outside of a stone pavilion. There are low stone walls coming out for seating that creat a little yard area. The side of the pavilion has an outdoor fireplace that's borded up. This is for doing big cooks, I imagine. Inside of the pavilion. This side has an indoor fireplace and two picnic tables. The rafters are made of wood and the window sills are cut from huge logs. You can see two window open air with shutters. Other side of the inside of the pavilion. This is the back of the outdoor fireplace. It's got two openings at the bottom to push wood into the fire, I think. A closer shot of the indoor fireplace. They cut all this stone themselves. The arch of the fireplace is done with irregularly shaped stones. The hearth is brick.

In March 1933, thousands of young men across America answered newly-elected President Franklin Roosevelt's call to join the Civilian Conservation Corps - a Peacetime Army that would plant millions of trees, build parks and recreational facilities across the United States, and most important, provide jobs to young unemployed men. For most, the CCC was the first job they ever held. When interviewed in 2003, 85-year-old Alvin Thieme, stationed 2 Bastrop State Park S 1933, remembered his days at camp: I am proud OF the work we did. I think everybody ought to look at these rocks.... They're pretty big- It was manpower. The boys did it ...I always said I was a boy when I got in; when I got out I was a man."

Roosevelt's "Tree Army" Companies 1805 and 1811 came to Bastrop and Buescher from 1933 to 1939 and began landscaping the area into a public recreational park. Recruits enrolled for a six-month period. Base pay was $30 per month, and of this, $22 to $25 was sent to the enrollee's family. The boys received uniforms, room, board and access to medical and dental care. On average, each boy gained 11-1/4 pounds during their first three months in the CCC.

I watched 9 to 5 tonight bc it goes pretty hard and Dolly, Lilly, and Jane are quite a force in this movie. But was not prepared for the credits. The 80s were like this....

At the direction of Governor Abbott, DPS law enforcement personnel, including state troopers, Special Agents, and Texas Rangers, along with Texas National Guard soldiers, will be surged to the Austin area to maintain law and order. This is in addition to the thousands of DPS troopers already stationed throughout the state. These law enforcement officers and soldiers will be supported by aircraft and other tactical assets. DPS' Homeland Security Division is actively monitoring the planned protest in Austin, as well as any other potential violent demonstrations across the state. DPS will investigate any links to known terrorist organizatio ns and swiftly bring charges against those who engage ir unlawful activity.

Wow! You're from Missouri, right? We camped at Meramec Caverns in August and did a cave tour!
Photo I took of limestone formations coming from top and bottom of the cave. The ones coming up are in a pool of water. There is one formation that has connected top and bottom forming a tower. Another that nearly touches.

I bought a fancy Ninja cooler with the bottom drawer and omg it works!

I feel weird posting a product review. But, like, that bottom drawer thing is pretty innovative.
