I'm not sure his thinking is ordered enough to actively reason "I choose to hurt the peasants because their lives are mine"; he's aligned with the sentiment but mostly he's just doing magical thinking that no bad effects will occur because he wills it so & of they do occur, it's because of sabotage

I think there is ample historical support that the episodes that survived did so on the basis of being easy to shop around to overseas licensees. Historicals, especially the ones that were various forms of "The British justifying their own history", had a lot less appeal overseas

I mean, the basic problem here is that if he can do THIS and it's not enough to stop him, how will anything you do to attack him possibly work? It's like trying to outmaneuver a pigeon.
