Also the animations are pretty good imo! I always love when games make sure the monoeye moves with whatever is nearby.

This was mostly just me having fun moving in a tutorial stage (this is not the game OST just using the actual Gundam OST while playing lol)

Oh... I knew about the King Gainer units doing the dance when you left them idle for a while but I didn't know the Turn A does this when idling for like a whole minute in ACE 3..... it has laundry to dry and clearly there must be a lull to allow it....

I'd say it's pretty easy! There's a lot of english text used in-game and so there's not a ton of translation needed. At most you'd just need to figure out what the stats are when tuning but otherwise it's not hard at all

I mean, it's... more arcadey is maybe how I'd describe it? Obviously it's not doing full Extreme Vs abstraction but it's not really going for a simulator vibe? I think it still feels good and sells the suits but don't go in expecting like, a GBO/0081 vibe

Fuck I think I might stick mostly with the zock to max my rank on all the ground missions I forgot how good it is. the 4 mega particle beam cannons hurt bad and can fire from most positions, the phonon maser is also omnidirectional and not bad, and the rolling zock beam diffusion is hilarious....

Had to record the rolling zock shot, though unfortunately it can't adjust its lock angle if you fire it without being locked on so I just kinda spin and fire lmao. Threw on appropriate music (Gundam Attack M28+M33 from Gundam Wing)

2 other fun zock notes:

1. It's SP attack (every suit has an SP attack) is just doing the 'rolling buster rifle' from Wing which is kinda hilarious

2. I like that they actually made it not have to turn around for firing when facing away from your target, since it has 4 beam cannons on both sides

I do think funnily a lot of the longer stages are generally nicer about the ratings than the faster stages? The 08th MS team which has you fighting some GMs and Guntanks, followed by defending a Zanzibar shuttle against Ground GMs and Ground Gundams, and ending with an Ez8 boss, still got an S rank

Also this game gave rise to my brain being screwed up on certain vehicle and MS names because I played it before I was really into Gundam so I just kinda assumed the Saberfish was the 'Shaverfish' for a bit lmao. There's definitely some other ones, I think ZZ had some wild english spellings in it

Like, they did bother to put extra work into it which is fun. The Ramba Ral Zaku I doesn't use the same melee combo animation as the stock Zaku I! I think that's cute. Will it be my main? Nah, but it's fun to mess around with in a stage or two and so I just like when there's lots of MS to play with

Anyway, playing the Gouf 5 times does net you the Ramba Ral Zaku I, which is fun, and unlike the gouf, has a bazooka. Now, it's a Zaku I so it's actually worse stat and tune limit wise than other machines you'd already have but!!! That's part of the fun imo I like that you just get lots of machines.
