I'm extremely grateful to have received the Anne Keymer prize for my oral presentation at the BES annual meeting 2025! A big thank you to the @britishecologicalsociety.org and everyone who came along to the talk—it was an absolute honour to have the chance to share my research with you all!
The Anne Keymer prize is awarded for the best oral presentation by a postgraduate student.

Charlotte won the prize for delivering a talk on improving habitat connectivity analysis by combining individual-based modelling with network theory.

82 % der wissenschaftlichen Beschäftigten unterhalb der Professur arbeiten befristet.
Das ist kein vorübergehendes Nachwuchsproblem, sondern Ausdruck struktureller Fehlanreize im deutschen Hochschulsystem.

New paper by Laurie Wojcik et al. where we show that response to a pulse perturbation has a hump-shaped relationship with top-down control

Top-down control and species composition influence nonlinearly the short-term response of experimental food webs to a nutrient pulse perturbation
Abstract. Extreme weather events intensify with global change and frequently disturb aquatic ecosystems via, e.g. nutrient pulses through surface runoff. W
