The next phone I buy will be an iPhone (17). Android user for now but been using my bf’s old iPhone 8 on the side and I can’t get over how much faster it is. Like a 9 year old iPhone is faster than a 2 year old Samsung 🤯

If you switch to the Duke University mirror, that one is known to be working now. Select "Other", then under United States it's the first option.

I'm surprised there's no announcement or anything. Like you said @mfraz74.bsky.social lots of people on Reddit reporting installs are breaking.

According to this thread: askubuntu.com/questions/15... The incident is resolved, but the it'll take a while to sync up the broken packages. It should resolve eventually, hopefully soon!
Why am I unable to update Ubuntu right now? (September 5, 2025 Incident)

Yeah, I'm getting the same issue. First downloading linux-firmware was really slow (20+ hours ETA) so I stopped it and tried again. Now it's giving me the same 500 error.

Not sure if it's related but I was getting errors downloading some firmware packages in an OpenSUSE installation too.

No - 40

I started using computers very young so by the time it would've mattered I was already proficient enough.

I use the app passively. I like to see what's going on, but rarely post myself

Awesome, I'm excited! One of my gripes about the ones I've seen so far is they can be hard to follow. I'm not a total beginner but I don't have enough experience to follow along if they're not clear so I've had to stop to look at the TV and see what's going on.

Thanks for the recommendation! I'll give him a try for my next workout tonight. 🧘‍♂️ I've been following www.youtube.com/@BreatheAndF... who's been really good. Definitely want to try different styles and speeds

I'd totally hang out but I don't live in the states, so it would be a pretty long trip

Thank you for making these kinds of videos! The part where you explained why you used specific dependencies, for example, was super useful for getting an understanding of what tools/libraries are out there.

3/3 In the end I picked Rust. I want to try and be more mindful of limited resources. It's easy to be lazy and wasteful, but I want to challenge myself to do more with less. Hopefully as I get familiar I'll be more productive. And I really hope library support is good.

2/3 Deno responded in ~30ms and Rust took ~20ms (--release). Under some load Deno would use 100-200MB or RAM, 10% CPU while Rust held steady at just under 10MB and about 7%.

Not a huge difference, so I had to decide if the productivity loss was worth it.
