Ace Ventura's well known catchphrase "Alrighty then!" did not originate with the movie.

Four years earlier, in the first sketch of the pilot episode of In Living Color (April 15, 1990), Jim Carrey said "Alrighty then!" for the first time — and not the last in the sketch series.

You should be able to mark a folder on your computer or phone as NSFW and it's wild to me that several generations of operating systems engineers never thought about that

My 80-year-old aunt told me she "got tired of streaming" and is borrowing DVDs from her library again.

So I checked it out and they have an amazing selection. Blu-rays too, from Criterion, Kino Lorber and other boutique labels.

Intellectually, it's not hard for me to conclude that there is something useful in the technology we're calling "AI" and those useful bits will transform digital workflows in profound ways

Spiritually I'm at a point of just wholesale rejecting modernity and becoming a woodworker instead.

Whenever I reflect on my reasons for self-improvement, or what I've learned as I've grown, or the people who have inspired me over the years, it always comes back to one fundamental truth:

There is never just the one right way to be

I kinda hate that in one year a plausible extrapolation of this whole Sydney Sweeney jeans thing is that double denim becomes an unironic conservative trad wife signal

Not too long ago someone in a group conversation asked what is a song everyone loves that you actually cannot stand and I couldn't think of one and suddenly it hit me.

It's Chappell Roan's Hot To Go. That is NOT FOR ME. I completely forgot about it

Had a conversation the other day where they're like "I like Star Trek but you probably know more than me about it" and then I'm like "yeah but then I meet other Star Trek fans and I don't know shit"

Anyway cue the thread where literally everyone actually knows the answer to this and I did not
