First time watch. Pretty middlebrow fare elevated by central performances from a trio of all-time-greats (Hackman, Defoe and McDormand). Would love to see a less sensationalized and fictionalized version of this story made some day.

At first a surreal fairytale, then a crime farce, and finally a sobering and heartbreaking return to reality. This film really pulled me along as it continuously transformed before my eyes. Great acting from Mikey Madison and Yura Borisov especially.
