One of the stories that makes me the saddest out of this ICE invasion is one out of the Minnesota Star Tribune today about ICE agents eating at a little Mexican restaurant in the small town of Willmar, Minn, —and then, when they were done, arresting some of the workers.

Glad to take part, & interested to see I was the only contributor to suggest that Europe's southern neighbourhood is a blind spot. Either I'm wrong (quite possible), or it really is a blind spot. My view: a water-stressed, conflict-ridden region with rapid population growth needs more attention.

En het probleem is niet de 'Nederlandse koe'. Het probleem is dat we in Nederland slachtfabrieken toestaan waar 150 koeien per uur vermaalt worden. Dat we koeien bewust te weinig ijzer geven zodat het vlees bleek blijft, terwijl Oostenrijk dat verbiedt. En dat restaurants liegen over de herkomst.
