Anyway, here’s the brooch and the teardrop idea (pay no attention to the opal, that’s just to show shape).
Tiny and delicate Victorian era shamrock brooch in diamonds on a gold (15 carat which nobody does anymore, but what is a carat between friends?) bar, held over a teardrop shape drawn in pencil on a piece of white paper. The tips of the jeweller’s fingers are in the lower part of the photo, throwing how small and delicate the brooch is. A tiny bit of the gold safety chain is peeking out from under his fingers. The shamrock is curved almost like a sculpture of a fish. Tiny and delicate Victorian era shamrock bar brooch in diamonds on a gold (15 carat which nobody does anymore, but what is a carat between friends?) bar, held over a teardrop-shaped opal pendant with a gold frame to show how the piece would look in a plain gold frame. The tips of the jeweller’s fingers are in the lower part of the photo, showing how small and delicate the brooch is. The shamrock is curved almost like a sculpture of a fish.

The doorway into a bathroom, the door is ajar. The ceiling light is on. A dark blue hoodie and a pale mauve hoodie are hung on the front of the door. I ATTACH EVIDENCE OF THE OUTCOME.
Two small plastic plant pots (one black, one white with a poinsettia Christmas wreath ring design) and both still FULL OF DIRT sit on a wooden ledge in the verandah area of my mother’s house. There is a glimpse of a red brick wall, wooden decking, and a cane chair. A sweepable amount of dirt on the concrete next to the green bins at my mother’s house. Like someone threw dead plants in the bin but without any regard for the fallout from the roots. Closeup of the dirt scattered all over the concrete, because I was just that pissed off. You can see the dried rosemary leaves in amongst the dirt.

I was visiting the maternal unit for a week and did much of the cooking, and put some some leftovers in the fridge for her to heat-n-eat.
THAT is what Mother was referring to.
But this is still a fucking hilarious opening to a text.

Every so often my stupidly racist country does something sensible, and says it LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE UP THE BACK: Criticising Zionism is NOT Antisemitism.
So when Zionism moves Israel to commit Genocide on Palestinians, one can freely call Zionists right cunts because that is what they are.

It’s the casual “haven’t had COVID in 6 months?” of it all for mine.

I need to show off how proud I am of 23yo wee Lolephant, who decided to learn #embroidery to make her sister's 21st birthday present. Sister long ago discarded the tablecloth but kept the #embroidered panels. She gave them back to me tonight to use as I see fit.

The middle of each flower is filled with french knots. Each flower has an embroidered green leaf emerging from underneath it, and these are embroidered in fly stitch, in green. It is embroidered with seven butterflies, all in satin stitch: one larger, central butterfly which is embroidered in pink, with mauve lower wings, and dark pink tips on the upper wings. Three smaller butterflies are embroidered either side, in a more "flutter about" sort of mood. They are simpler, just the traditional two sets of wings. Each butterfly has a different colour combination for the upper and lower wings: pink and lemon yellow; mauve and pink; lemon yellow and mauve. The butterflies' bodies and antennae are embroidered in a rich, woodsy brown. All of the thread colours are still very bright and shiny.

I nicked this image off an @ofmdrareships.bsky.social post, but it's #ofmd in a nutshell - one ship (so very pretty), and it sails with so much hope, love, fun, pirates, booty (both sorts), drama, 'ships, rainbows, and belonging to something.
Plus awesome fireworks (both sorts).

It is nighttime, with enough cloud that the moon and stars are obscured. There are lit lanterns strung between the various masks to create a warm purple glow. Rainbow-coloured fireworks are exploding out from the ship in a burst of glittering light, reflected in a gold and purple path on the ocean. You can tell everyone on the ship is happy to be alive right at this moment.

Context: I had stretch fabric dresses that ended up as nighties; the very last one is still soft, but starting to fall apart. So I cut up one of the others for a pattern & made these three!
I have plans to modify the pattern to make it more fitted, but for now, attempting to rest on my laurels.

Each iteration of the pattern is about the size of a round meat pie. It's the only one that actually screams "nightwear!" loudly.

I was going to say: hey, if you want to know what jelly shoes were like, they had #Kleya being the entire SAS on her own in them in #Andor in the hospital.
They're not *quite* the same as the ones we had in the 80s (they were more open) - but the closest I have seen in this trouser leg of time.

I know Tony Gilroy refers to Diego Luna as "Star Wars Jesus" and, yup. They light him so he looks like he just stepped out of a Renaissance painting. He is a pretty man, but in the scene on Ferrix where looms out of the shadows to threaten Syril? *chef's kiss*
