This is a fun Saturday to raise visibility.
We showed up in the rain. We danced anyway. That was Good Trouble.

Authoritarianism feeds on silence—but weakens when people are visible and united. So we keep showing up. We make Good Trouble.

Any senator who refuses to back the War Powers Resolution will be as responsible as Trump for further loss of life, blowback against the US, & the emboldening of expansionist regimes globally.

Does anyone want to get out this weekend to ask for ICE Out?

Reston and Franconia have Friday events, but I’d rather do something during rush hour Friday or on Sat. Keep looking for more events to get ICE out of our communities.

Action actually happened today. Very cool.
Jan 6 2020 was A DAY OF INFAMY because violent insurrectionists stormed the Capitol. A vigil today marked that horrible day. The White House is using the same phrase to sell the Big Lie talkingpointsmemo.com/news/the-whi...

Wow. I keep getting surprised. The false narrative continues and I fear more and more people will fall for it.
🚨BREAKING: On the 5th anniversary of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, the Trump White House launched a new website that rewrites the events of that day—portraying the violent effort to overturn the 2020 election as a miscarriage of justice and casting those who stormed the Capitol as victims.

This is so sad and what I figured had been happening. I hope everyone who thought Kamala wasn’t good enough is happy. Let’s not make that mistake again.

Local elections that matter most.
From the bottom up, guys.
County clerks, secretaries of state, and local election boards run the machinery of democracy.
Win as many of these races as possible, and even a lunatic backed by oligarchy might be removed.

Super scary stuff.
🎃 This Halloween, families are getting tricked by Trump’s economy:

Candy prices are up 11%

Tootsie Rolls are up 34%

Hershey’s packs are up 22%

Trump promised to make life cheaper. Instead, he’s haunted Americans with higher prices. (via @groundwork.bsky.social and @tcfdotorg.bsky.social)

Trump has made the economy lousy.
I’m at Gatorland in Orlando, and one of the employees told me that park attendance is way down: “The zip line should be packed, but nobody’s buying tickets.”

He says people just aren’t spending money, and guesses that’s because everyone is struggling due to the “lousy economy.”

More lawsuits should be filed. We are not okay with this.
There’s only been one lawsuit filed against the devastating destruction of the White House.

One.

And it’s by Virginia couple, Charles and Judith Voorhees.

Not Congress, not historical (or any) institutions, but a citizen couple.

We continue to be the resistance.

In personal and social media ways, I am hearing more of these stories. This one from CA, but I personally know one from CO and DC and I’ve heard of this happening to far too many in Chicago as well. This is one story, but the House, if it was in DC, could be providing oversight to demand ICE better.
ICE attacked George Retes, a US Army Iraq War Combat Veteran. He was brutally beaten & detained by these masked thugs. They held him for 3 days & they deprived him of medical attention & made him miss his baby's birthday!
