They could've looked out their window and seen a U.S citizen being kidnapped off the street in broad daylight. Could have. Might have, even.

We've been asking the city for more action for months. Now ICE is on their doorstep, stripping the city of their constituents. He's still in ICE custody. 6/6

What you don't realize unless you know Lakewood is that this Home Depot is directly across from City Hall. Just to the north is the Lakewood Sheriff Department. 5/

Across the street is Lakewood City Hall. North of City Hall is the Lakewood Sheriff Department, circled in yellow. The sheriffs are 1000 feet away from Home Depot, and the parking lot is even closer to them than that.

We have seen video of this man being taken from Lakewood Home Depot. Rapid response was on the ground while it was happening but could only document. 4/

I think this is an important story to tell. Today my friend's husband was arrested due to racial profiling by ICE at Lakewood Home Depot. It turns out he had proof of being a U.S. citizen on his person but no one asked or listened to him. When he got to downtown LA for processing they found the documents. After waiting in horrible conditions all day, they told him he is now "under investigation" but would not say for what. He got one phone call. His wife has been instructed to bring her birth certificate, wedding certificate and her driver's license to the detention center in DTLA tomorrow. There is no reason she needs to do that as she is a U.S. citizen also, who was born here as well. (Just fyi -Her husband's police record is spotless - not even unpaid parking tickets.)

Today ICE took someone from the Lakewood Home Depot for the first time. We are assuming it's for the first time because we have no way to know for sure. We have been given permission to repost this account of what happened by the original poster. They are a trusted source. 2/
