Here we go. Reeves' book is yet another in a long string of seemingly supportive but deeply sexist books in this genre. That Murphy approved of it is problematic on many, many levels.

His support for the "men have nothing thanks to women taking everything" movement is appalling, especially for a Democrat. I would vote for him as senator if I lived in CT (which I don't) but if he runs for president (which seems likely) he would not be my choice.

I'm not a huge fan of Chris Murphy for multiple reasons, but he is absolutely right about this. Trump WANTS the violence to keep the country in line, and if there's any kind of pushback he wants an excuse to invoke the Insurrection Act and declare martial law.

Women could and did have their own checking accounts - my aunt certainly did. She also had her own department store charge plate, which was NOT in her brother's name. As for women serving on juries, that varied by state.
