I knew the modelers who tried to make Green Mountain Care work in Vermont. The best - the *best* - they could do would have raised taxes 21% across the board and flatlined the state's economy. Single payer *cannot* work except at the national level.

Fandom in the Boston area didn't *hate* it. The reaction was more =me= than anything else, largely because no one really thought Beatty was a good Dick Tracy.

Also, Madonna is not a good actress. She looked wonderful but she cannot act and never could.

Beatty only used the six colors available for strip comics in the 1930s, which gave it a really distinctive look.

My biggest beef with the film is that Warren Beatty never should have played Dick Tracy himself.
