UPDATE: ACLU attorney Lee Gelernt reports that certain individuals Trump recently deported to El Salvador have been returned to the U.S. It was discovered these individuals either weren't Venezuelan or were women. Therefore, the Salvadoran government declined to take them.
Nearly 300 Venezuelan men whom Trump targeted and deported to El Salvador from the United States now face permanent detention in a prison system rife with human rights abuses.

Families of the imprisoned deportees and their lawyers fear for the safety and futures of these men.

The U.S. #NationalWeatherService, housed within #NOAA, is a truly world-class meteorological predictive service, perhaps singularly so. It costs only ~$3/yr per taxpayer, & yields ~10:1 return on investment--saving economy 10s-100s of billions, not to mention thousands of lives.
Hearing reports that Musk’s cronies are targeting NOAA — infiltrating key systems and locking out career employees.

NOAA is vital for weather forecasting, scientific research and more. Their critical work saves lives.

Maybe I'm crazy, but when the new authoritarian leader is executing a blitzkrieg to consolidate power and demolish the pillars of our democracy, maybe the opposing party shouldn't vote for his bootlicking nominees who were selected for their blind fealty. I'm crazy, right?
16 Democratic senators recently voted to confirm the Trump-appointed Treasury Secretary who just gave Musk’s team access to a Treasury payment system that disburses trillions and holds mass quantities of personal information. Food for thought. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

The evidence against vouchers also has the markers of a good scientific literature:

1) Clear identifiable pattern (larger, newer voucher systems —> worse results)

2) Replicated by: multiple research labs (teams) and in multiple field sites (states).

3) Results hold over time.
The school voucher situation is not one of those “critics say” vs “supporters claim” debates.

There’s 20+ years of data that show what actually happens.

The larger the voucher system, the worse the results.

Biden’s big miscalculation on the economy was thinking that the press would give him credit for the massive numbers of working class jobs he created. So far as I can tell, historians understand it quite well. But not so much other people.
