Most people look nicer when they smile, but there's something dead behind the eyes/going to eat your children about the way he smiles

Are you talking about the right country relative to the OP?

Excluding a minoritised group of children from social activities on the basis of threats, hate, and unjust laws is not acceptable. You don't have to accept it.

I have never been more convinced she is the queer anarchist we all would be well to orientate ourselves by

My sister in law is a huge Cliff fan, she's also (like many other of his fans) utterly humourless about him. No gentle ribbing or "ok, but he is a homosexual?" will be tolerated. I find the kind of reverance he inspires, fascinating.

Ha, I do this with my students on Sexuality and Intimacy too. *sad trombone*

I feel like I've definitely read about this not from either of those sources. My guess is BBC as that's where I read most magazine type articles. Have you seen this? www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazin...
What was behind the Bristol bus boycott?
Fifty years have passed since campaigners overturned a ban on ethnic minorities working on Bristol's buses. It was a watershed in the fight for equality.

Every single Christmas movie with the boring parents who need to relearn the wonder of Christmas through their child's eyes? Being the same age as those guys is what fucks me up

Ahaha. We haven't finished s1 yet but I was ranting about the gloves and the paper archive documents from the first shot

Or even from 2018...I am really not feeling amazing.

Lesbian, bisexual and queer motherhood article here: doi.org/10.1080/0957...

I'd characterise it as a bit of classic University of Sussex-style media/cultural studies work, which is less what I do recently.
Lesbian, Bisexual and Queer Motherhood: Crafting Radical Narratives and Representing Social Change through Cultural Representations
This article examines how lesbian, gay, bisexual and queer (LGBQ) women negotiate mother-identity narratives through critical engagement with diverse media representations. The author draws on the ...

There was a real sense of "how dare passengers expect a service from us" to it

I once asked this question to CC in a complaint and they said they didn't have to explain their choices about capacity to passengers. Lolz

I am an academic going through that. I am not using AI. I am still compassionate and in solidarity with any colleagues anywhere in the country who have found this to be the strategy for their survival.

I don't think that condemning an individual for the systematic failures of an institution is fair or constructive. We have no insight into what they were advised to do, what workload they had, or even if they had the appropriate expertise for what they had been required to deliver.

The fire hydrant analogy is accidentally perfect given you have no control over that anymore than you do over disability or illness.

I also have to believe (want to believe) that the lecturer is absolutely drowning if this is what felt like a viable or sensible choice for the module. Especially in the face of such clear and sustained objection from students.

Oh amazing! Thank you. This is why casting the net out is so worth it

People who have not yet been found guilty of a crime are definitionally not criminals. Would you care to revise the article to reflect this instead of parroting this unconstitutional nonsense
November 20, 2025 at 12:03 PM
Thank you! No, this is definitely part of my half formed thought. What people suggest B&C specify is often inaccurate. There's a gap, somewhere, in what we know/think we should do, what we do, and what we say we did. I think we're maybe without right words to reconcile it?
