Aetherdrift really did have that Vorthos juice. People can knock the cards, but it really was a solid set in terms of story and worldbuilding

I understand that it was mechanically subpar (though there are things I like from it too, like the gearhulks), and that the story came off as gimmicky, but seeing it as a death knell for Magic feels intolerant to the fact that it was experimenting with a new theme. And I loved the worldbuilding!

I genuinely did not ever think I'd see the day. I have long maintained that for D&D to be truly progressive as it claims to be working toward, it needs to abandon the alignment chart, and I thought that WotC would be too invested in its legacy to discard it. But MAYBE THERE IS HOPE!!!

Honestly this makes me want to make a Horrid Evil Mirrodin-Phyrexia Crossword whose clues are mostly characters who appear in a single side story or who are quoted in a card like one time

One day. A crossword clue will be a hyperspecific obscure Phyrexian character.
And on that day. I will shine.
